Voice Diagnosis: Talk to TaskClinic Like a Real Technician
Our new voice input feature lets you describe your problem out loud. Powered by Whisper AI for instant transcription.
We've noticed something interesting about how people describe tech problems: they're much better at explaining issues out loud than typing them. When someone types "laptop slow," they mean a dozen different things. But when they speak, they naturally say things like "my laptop takes forever to open Chrome, and the fan is really loud when I have Zoom open."
That's why we built voice diagnosis.
How it works
Click the microphone icon in the TaskClinic chat and start talking. Describe your problem naturally, as if you were explaining it to a friend. Our Whisper-powered AI transcribes your speech in real-time with near-perfect accuracy, then feeds it into the diagnostic engine.
The result: 3x more detail than typed descriptions, which means significantly more accurate diagnoses.
Why voice changes everything
When typing, people filter. They try to sound technical, use fewer words, and leave out details they think are "unimportant." When speaking, they include context naturally: "it started after I installed that update last week," "the screen flickers mostly in the morning," "it makes a clicking sound when I open the lid."
These details are goldmines for diagnosis. The clicking sound points to a hard drive issue. The morning flicker suggests a temperature-related display problem. The post-update timing narrows down the cause dramatically.
Privacy and security
Voice recordings are processed in real-time and never permanently stored. The audio is sent to our servers, transcribed using OpenAI's Whisper model, and immediately deleted. Only the text transcription is kept as part of your diagnostic session.
You can also review and edit the transcription before sending it, giving you full control over what information you share.
Tips for the best results
Speak naturally — don't try to use technical jargon. Mention when the problem started, what you were doing when it happened, and any changes you've made recently (new software, updates, physical damage). The more context you give, the more accurate the diagnosis.
Voice input works on all modern browsers on desktop and mobile. Just make sure to allow microphone access when prompted.
